Washing off before a day outing.
My first reaction was that Las Tolas was very beautiful. I like that the people try to understand me even when my Spanish is not perfect. The view is gorgeous, and there are also lots of dogs and chickens.

Desayuno de crepes for Landon.
When I arrived in Las Tolas, I was very happy because I have waited for this trip for months. The nature here is very beautiful and interesting; there are plants that I have never seen. The people of Las Tolas are also nice. I’m excited to work and help out in the community.

I like that everyone here says “Hola!” when we walk through town. The view is perfect.

Tamales de platano y queso!
I thought that Las Tolas was very welcoming. I was nervous at first because I need to practice my Spanish, but I was able to chat with lots of people. I’m excited to make lots of friends in the community because everyone at the welcome party was very nice. The view here is incredible, too. I can’t wait for the rest of the trip!

Fiesta de cumpleaños de Hannah.

A Las Tolas tradition to eat the cake without hands.
Everyone is so nice. It was a surprise to see all the dogs and chickens. I like that the kids have freedom because it’s different in the US. The bathrooms were also a surprise. Las Tolas in total is fantastic.
